SMILES AFRICA INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

Smiles Africa International Youth Development Initiative (SAIYDI) is a non-profit civic platform of change makers committed to developed and empower young people, organizations, institutions and communities at the grassroots in the promotion of democratic governance, human right, health and well-being, accountability, sustainable Peace Building, Child Development, Gender, Entrepreneurship and youth participation. 

SAIYDI is growing to emerge as one of the lead youth non-profit that is building young people to achieve their full potentials and strengthening youth organizations involved in development programs in Africa driven by its core vision of being a pacesetter organization advancing child development, democracy, human rights, health and wellbeing, gender, entrepreneurship development and accountability in Africa. 

SAIYDI focuses on in-depth research, capacity development, and policy advocacy. Since its inception, the organization has worked with many networks, organizations and development partners to be one of Nigeria’s frontline civil society organization promoting Child development, Health and wellbeing, Poverty Reduction, Sustainable peacebuilding, participatory democracy, human rights, and active civic participation.

With its operational base in Benin City, Edo Nigeria, SAIYDI started off in 2005 as Smiles Africa International a Youth Reproductive Health and Vocational Skills Development Organization with his Free computer training for youth and student association in Benin City Edo State. Since then, the organization has expanded its frontiers to engagement on child development, youth leadership and entrepreneurship development Peace Building and democracy within Edo State and Nigeria at large by successfully organizing programmes which cuts across, Women rights, Child rights Sexual Reproductive Health /Rights, Street Children, Drug and Substance Abuse/Trafficking, Youth Migration, Abortion, Cyber-crime (yahoo. yahoo), Sexual harassment, Prostitution , Examination malpractice , Campus Cultism, Environmental Crime, Stereotype, Democracy/ Electoral education, Terrorism, Rape, Kidnapping, Gender equality, Anti-Corruption, Youth Development, Climate change Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution, Community Policing, Constitutional review, Leadership, and Good Governance.

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission CAC/IT/No.99019, in 2017 SAIYDI seeks to launch itself as a civic platforms and an innovative “think and do” tank poised with the onerous mandate of enhancing the quality of child development, Health and wellbeing, youth leadership and entrepreneurship development, sustainable Peacebuilding, democratic governance, accountability and youth political participation in Africa.
